Ask a Question
Q:
how many levels down will be shown? i have a parent/child/subchild/subchild2
A:
Only two. In your case, it will show all parents and children. (Similar to Yahoo directory)
Q:
What language is the source code?
A:
Visual Basic. And no, there are no plans for a C# version. :-)
Q:
I have a survey module on a DNN tab and need a way to have multiple surveys under one solpartmenu tab. I don't want my solpartmenu to grow as I add more surveys. Ideally, a user would select the surveys tab and be able to navigate to multiple surveys within that tab but I do not want a solpartmenu item for each survey. Do any of your products meet this requirement?
A:
Here is how I would do this with FlexPlex Navigator: 1. Create individual survey tabs under one 'Parent' survey tab. Mark individual survey tabs as 'Hidden' , so they do not show up on the solpartmenu. 2. Add Flexplex Navigator to the 'Parent' tab, and set 'Include Hidden Pages' to 'Yes' on the Advanced Settings. This will show all surveys in a list. 3. Use style sheets and other Navigator settings to achive desired look and feel.
Q:
Are you able to adapt this to a web service?
A:
I have received a number of inquiries for a web service version. I am investigating how to implement this in DNN framework and will update this FAQ if this feature is ever developed. Thank you to everyone who asked for the suggestion!
Q:
What browsers is this navigator compatible with?
A:
I have officially tested the Navigator with IE6 and FireFox 1.0. On this note, the layout of the Navigator is very simple and I suspect it will work just fine with older IE and Netscape versions. I do not add any formating, all of which can be controlled via the style sheets.
Q:
1. I need to be able to programmatically drill down and display only branch where I am now. Example: the following layout assumes that I am on grandchild of parent2: PARENT1 | PARENT2>his child1>his grandchild | PARENT3 | PARENT4 2. I need to be able to add querystring key/value pairs to specific links programmatically. Is that possible? Thanks, Michael
A:
I am not 100% sure of what you are trying to accomplish, but Navigator does not accept any query string parameters. Based on that, the answer would be no.
